How It Works
Please note, immigration legal services are not provided by the UIC referral line specialist. The partner agency’s DOJ Accredited Representative or Attorney will provide the consultation.
1) Call for an Initial Intake Screening
Begin by calling the referral line for an initial intake screening. Basic questions will be asked to better understand the type of assistance needed.
All personal information shared is confidential and will only be used to make the appropriate referral. Information will not be shared without the caller’s consent.
2) Referral Sent
After collecting the necessary information, the referral line specialist will forward your referral to a collaborating agency. You can expect to be contacted within three business days to schedule a consultation.
3) Consultation with a DOJ Representative or Immigration Attorney
You will be contacted to schedule a consultation, either in person or virtually, with a DOJ Accredited Representative or an immigration attorney, based on the nature of your referral.
4) Make a Decision
Following your consultation with the immigration legal service provider, you can decide whether to move forward with their services. If you choose to proceed, the provider will guide you through the next steps.
If calling outside of business hours or when the referral line is busy, please leave your name, contact number, and a brief message. A call will be returned within one business day.
