Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah (BBBSU) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Serving children aged 6 to 18 across Utah, including Summit and Wasatch Counties, BBBSU matches caring adult volunteers ("Bigs") with children ("Littles") to foster growth, resilience, and opportunity.
Mentoring Programs
BBBSU offers several mentoring programs to accommodate different needs and schedules:
Community-Based Mentoring: Bigs and Littles meet 2–4 times per month for activities like hiking, visiting the library, or attending events.
Community-Based Mentoring: Bigs and Littles meet 2–4 times per month for activities like hiking, visiting the library, or attending events.
Site-Based Mentoring: Matches meet weekly at designated sites, such as schools, to engage in activities and build relationships.
Mentor 2.0: A technology-enhanced program where mentors and mentees communicate weekly online and meet monthly in person, focusing on college and career readiness.
These programs aim to help Littles achieve success in school, avoid risky behaviors, and improve self-confidence. In 2023, BBBSU supported mentorship programs for 103 youth in Summit and Wasatch Counties.
